Little private owned restaurant more of a carryout style but we sat and ate. Food was amazing. We stopped on our drive back from Monroe, Michigan! Highly recommend the baked chicken, yams, baked mac and cheese, and cornbread all made homemade!! Best authentic soul food we've had!

I got the fried chicken wings, m&c, and yams. Other meal was smothered pork chops, collard greens and m&c. Wings were good, fried with no seasoning,( dip it in hot sauce). M&c were perfect. Yams were a tad sweet but great. Collard greens were a bit salty though. Overall enjoyed the food. Cute little corner kitchen. Food prices are not bad. Sundays are the best time to go.

Delicious. If you are googling soul food Toledo you better go to Josephine’s hands down. Generous portions. Mac and cheese the best. Everything was well seasoned. The staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I just got hip to this place and they have the best soul food in the city! This food tastes just like when you get invited to the cookout. I'll definitely be eating here at least once a week if not more. This food is so good you gotta try it!

From the great welcome by a beautiful spirit when I walked in and his A+++ service made me feel very comfortable with me not knowing much about this area. You’re so amazing Thank you. I had fresh hot fried chicken that was fried a little hard but the crunch of the skin with the nice seasoning was perfect plus okra and potato salad, cornbread with samples of sweet potatoes, cabbage and greens on the side. Lord have mercy I fell in love it made me feel like I was at home eating every single bite. I am so happy that I found this diamond as well. You really made my day delicious in every way. The food is blessed and the taste of love is all in it I recommend Josephine's soul food for sure. I’ll be back soon
